Mission Pappu: Since we shifted to our new flat, we all co-residents were trying to meet as often as possible. There were few issues to be discussed and solved. After initial meetings it was decided to keep the meeting every first sunday of the month. It was happily agreed upon. This month's first saturday brought a tragedy for me. After booking 3 tickets for latest Aamir Khan production - "Jaane Tu ya jaane na", I lost my wallet. After pondering a lot, I was surprised that the movie-geek inside me was more worried for the movie. within four days, the ricksaw driver called me to return the wallet. Getting it back along with the un-used movie tickets, the senti-side of me was happy to get it back with all blocked cards. In all these emotional turbulence of mine, I cud not concentrate on the agenda of the Co-resident's meeting. Somehow I realised that the list of issues was ready to be discussed with the Builder and that all were agreeing on having a Get-together. We were keen on knowing all as soon as possible, so without postponing it any further, we kept the get-together on second saturday of july. I was relieved to get my wallet back and thus was 100% energised for the event. Few smart co-residents took the lead to organise bigger details of the events, and we were left with trivial stuffs. I got the responsibility to prepare item with kids. Being busy till friday, I called the kids on saturday morning. I gave the time as 10 o'clock but reached late. I was furious for the maid who took the leisure of coming late on saturday and felt sorry for the kids who waited for me for an hour or so... some were so excited that they skipped breakfast to be there on time. Additionally I liked the way kids are in touch with each other, their network is stronger. Informing anyone ensures that each one gets the message. We chose the club-house as our dance class. I noted down their names and started the discussion. Each one are talented and wanted to perform solo. Looking at the objective of the get-together I found it irrelevant to let each kid perform singly. I proposed to them an idea of group dance. They agreed, but not easily. second dispute arose when we were chosing the song. I wanted "pappu can't dance.." but few of them disagreed. Luckily I had a teenager Anushka with me to support the task. She took the initiative and we were able to choreograph a little. One kid Varun, whom I wanted to be in center left the practice as their parents were going out for shopping. After re-arranging the group, I started.. then Mihir got stomach-ache and he too left. I got worried and almost gave up. Remaining kids were enthusiast to to the dance, so I carried on. when time was 1:30 pm, most of the Moms were calling their kids for lunch. In my case, I had to prepare it also.. then my grocery shopping for the week, laundry were waiting too... without much planning we packed up. Anushka was supportive enough to carry on the practice at her home, but she did not had the music. I went to my house, took out the data cable and went to her house again. Transfered the full folder of the movie songs and voila !! arosed problem no 4 - the file format ... yeah, her lappie was not supporting the file. Had no time to check for the format-conversion.. I thought of waiting for Manish who will help faster.. Hmmm, after much thought I kept my cell-ph on 'offline' mode and gave it to Anushka to carry on with the practice. I quickly cooked some rice and ate my lunch with left-over chicken. Was arranging the laundry and shopping list when intercom ranged. It was Anushka, she was unable to continue practice as no-one was paying her attention. Moreover our dance was half composed. I saw the time: it was 4 pm. we had only an hour to do dance practice or else we had to cancel it. I quickly ran to the place they were practicing.. Kids took their lunch and their energy level was better. This time it was quick and we were able to finish the choreography. After practicing couple of times I called it off at around 5 pm. I reached home but had no time for anything now. Took one long shower, shampooed my hairs, sipped tea. Manish was busy arranging music for the evening. we were ready by 7:15. He headed for the venue to assist others and I called my team at lobby to check their practice. Varun was back from shopping and keen to join, Mihir's stomach-ache was ok and he too wanted to join. It was no serious dance competition, how can i not allowed them to? Let all dance and have fun. we reached venue on time. Evening became lively when all families started coming in. We had the cake-cutting. And after that the kids-groupe performed. They forgot few steps here and there but they did not stop and presented a very energetic performance. All complimented me for accomplishing it and I felt proud on the kids. We had formal flat-wise introduction followed by dinner. Great food it was. later on we played the music and danced a little. What a fun evening it was with my Mission Pappu accomplished !!
